Principal Mobile Engineer, Platform – MetaMask

Consensys is the leading blockchain and web3 software company. They are hiring a Principal Mobile Engineer to lead the Mobile Platform team for MetaMask, focusing on architecture, performance, and scaling the mobile apps.

📋 Responsibilities include:
– Own mobile platform architecture for MetaMask Mobile (React Native + native), optimizing performance and backend integrations.
– Lead high-impact cross-team initiatives, upgrades, migrations, and structural performance work (startup time, crashes, memory, bundle size).
– Elevate developer experience through improved tooling, CI/CD, automation, and AI integration in workflows.
– Drive app health metrics, dashboards, and culture of shared accountability.
– Mentor senior engineers and shape technical direction for the Mobile Platform team.

🔑 Requirements:
– ~10+ years building and scaling mobile apps, with ownership of large React Native or hybrid platforms at Principal/Staff level.
– Deep expertise in React Native architecture, performance, debugging, and bridging; solid native iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin) experience.
– Strong background in mobile CI/CD, release engineering, OTA systems, and building internal platforms/tooling.
– Proven leadership in influencing without authority, mentoring, and operating in ambiguity.
